CMPD Training at I-485/South Boulevard Transit Station

Transit customers will see an unusual site at the I-485/South Boulevard Transit Station on Wednesday, November 4 between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Departmentıs (CMPD) Bomb Squad will be training at this facility to prepare themselves in the event they ever need to respond to an emergency aboard a transit vehicle. Passengers will see CMPD officers conducting exercises south of the light rail platform and on the ground level to the right of the main entrance of the parking deck. You may also see several other CMPD vehicles at this station during Wednesdayıs training exercise.

Service will not be interrupted and customers will be able to board the Lynx Blue Line at the I-485/South Boulevard Station while the exercise is underway. The training will not impede customers wishing to board the Lynx Blue Line.

Please do not enter the areas where the training is occurring as CATS and CMPD work together to keep you as safe and secure as possible.
