4th & Caldwell Street Closures

Routes 3, 4, 6, 14, 15, 17, 20, 23, 39, 40x, 48x, 51x, 64x, 65x, 74x, 77x, 80x, 82x, 83x, 85x, 88x & Gold Rush Red Line

On Thursday morning, May 15, 2008 there was a sewer line collapse on 4th Street near Caldwell Street. Crews are currently working to fix the problem, and repair work is expected to continue for a while.

As a result, CATS buses will not be able to use 4th Street between McDowell and Caldwell Streets until further notice. It is not clear if this detour will last for more than one day. CATS will update the detours as information becomes available. See below for detours affecting the Gold Rush Red Line and afternoon express buses.

Passengers riding bus routes affected by this incident should board and de-board at the Charlotte Transportation Center.

Passengers riding the Gold Rush Red Line can board eastbound on Trade Street at Alexander Street, or westbound on 4th Street at the Charlotte Transportation Center.
