ROUTE 42 Carowinds

Service to Carowinds Theme Park

Beginning March 22,2007, the Charlotte Area Transit System will again provide bus service to the Carowinds Theme Park. Route 42 Carowinds Blvd. will operate from the I-485/South Blvd Station LYNX Light Rail Station to Carowinds Theme Park.  Customers can access the LYNX Blue Line I-485 Station directly via the following CATS services: the LYNX Blue Line, Route 12, and Route 58. 

During the months of March, April, and May, CATS will operate the Route 42 Carowinds only on Saturdays, Sundays, and limited weekdays.  The service will start at 8:05 a.m. and continue until one hour after the park closes.  Daily service to Carowinds Theme Park will begin June 10, 2008.  The one-way fare is $1.30. 

CATS will operate the printed schedule on limited weekdays including; Monday, March 24th, Monday, April 7th, Friday April 11th, and Monday, May 26, 2008. If you have any questions concerning the service, please call 704-336-RIDE.
