SOUTH END SHUTTLE DISCONTINUATION
AND
NEW 1ST WARD SHUTTLE SERVICE

The South End shuttle will be discontinued on November 26, 2007 with the start-up of revenue service on the LYNX Blue Line.  The LYNX Blue Line will operate every 7.5 minutes in the weekday rush hour and every 15 minutes in the midday.

Service to 1st Ward in Uptown Charlotte will be replaced with a new Gold Rush route, the 1st Ward Shuttle.  This service will be offered on a trial basis and will be evaluated on an on-going basis to determine if the service will continue operation.  Service will begin at 11th Street and Brevard Street and extend down Caldwell Street, Davidson Street, 7th Street and Church Street to Trade Street and Tryon Street in the morning rush hour.  The reverse of this routing will be used in the afternoon rush utilizing Poplar Street.  The 1st Ward Shuttle will operate every 20 minutes in the morning and afternoon rush hour.  The morning service hours are from 6:45 am to 8:50 am and the afternoon service hours are from 4:15 pm to 6:25 pm.
