LYNX BLUE LINE RIDERS CAN NOW USE CREDIT CARDS
Charlotte, N.C., March 26, 2008 - If you are taking the LYNX Blue Line to work, shopping, special events or whatever the destination, transit customers can now use credit cards at the ticket vending machines (TVMs) along the light rail line. “The credit card feature will make it easier for commuters who may not like to carry cash or prefer to use cards for financial transactions,” said Mike Nail, CATS Operating Budget Manager.
When purchasing tickets, the customer will select the type of ticket to buy and how many; the screen will then prompt you to choose the type of payment, which will be cash or credit card. After you choose the payment type, the tickets and a receipt will print.
The TVMs only take credit cards at this time. If your debit card has the MasterCard or Visa logo, customers can use it as a credit card at the TVMs. The debit feature will be available later this year.
