CATS ENCOURAGES FEEDBACK ON THE LYNX PURPLE LINE
Charlotte, N.C., September 5, 2008 - Where are the Purple Line station locations? When will the decision be made to construct the project? What challenges does the project face? What are the next steps? The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will answer these questions, and more, at two public workshops being held on Tuesday, September 9 in Charlotte and Thursday, September 11 in Davidson.
Planning for the LYNX Purple Line, proposed to run from Charlotte Gateway Station in Charlotte to Mount Mourne in southern Iredell County, continues to progress and CATS is working closely with community members, stakeholders and officials from Charlotte and the towns of Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson and Mooresville to design a service that will best serve the current and future needs of the area. "The Purple Line isn't just about moving people, it's also about land-use, economic development and community engagement," said Brian Nadolny, assistant project manager for the LYNX Purple Line. "The decisions being made now will impact the community for decades, and citizens play an active role in shaping their community."
