CATS HOLDS PUBLIC MEETINGS TO DISCUSS BUS INTEGRATION PLANS FOR LYNX BLUE LINE
Charlotte, N.C., January 26, 2007 - The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will hold a series of public meetings beginning February 1 to discuss proposed adjustments to eight existing bus routes and eight potential new bus routes that would connect to the LYNX Blue Line beginning November 2007.
"Over 50 percent of the ridership on the light rail line will come from surrounding neighborhoods," said Larry Kopf, Chief Operations Planning Officer. "Providing a seamless system between the bus and rail service will allow our customers to board a bus right in their neighborhood and go directly to the LYNX Blue Line. This connection will also improve cross-town travel opportunities and make transferring from one service to another much easier."
