All final candidates are required to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet physical requirements of the job; some positions require a physical examination. During the selection process, candidates may be asked to take a skills test, and/or participate in other job-related assessments.

Applicants may be required to have specific licenses, permits or certifications, such as a City Driving Permit as a condition of employment.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

At least 23 years of age.

Must possess a Commercial "A" or "B" CDL with Passenger endorsement or a Commercial "A" or "B" CDL permit with Passenger endorsement.

Documented 7 year driving history from DMV.

A Social Security Card.

High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

Birth Certificate

All candidates must attend a 3 hour video–based assessment.
After completing an application and producing proof of appropriate CDL, the assessment is scheduled through CATS Bus Operations Division Human Resources Department at 704/336-4060.
Training classes are held at 3145 S. Tryon St. Applicants who have been selected will be extended an Offer of Hire by Transit Management of Charlotte, and will attend a 7 week training class. All applicants must meet or exceed these employment qualifications and standards, which include, but are not limited to:
