What software does the City use?

ESRI ArcGIS Desktop Suite, ArcGIS Server 9.2, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, and open source applications.

 What coordinate system does the City use?

Projection = Lambert Conformal Conic
Coordinate System = NC State Plane Coordinate System
Horizontal Datum -= North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83)
Vertical Datum = North American Datum of 1988 (NAVD88)
Units =  US Survey Foot

 Is the City's GIS information available to the public?

Most of the City's data is available to the public.  However, some data is unavailable due to security, confidentiality, and license restrictions.

 How can I get a map?

Click on the "Printable Maps" link on the left.  This will allow you to download the map and use Adobe Reader to view, zoom, and pan.  You can also use Adobe Reader to print the map.

 What are the technical requirements for viewing online GIS applications?

The applications were tested on Internet Explorer 6.0 and Firefox 2.0, however, most of the newer browsers (IE6.0+, Firefox 1.5+, Opera 9+, Safari 2.0+) with javascript enabled should be able to view the online applications.

 I think I found an error.  Who should I contact?
