85% of animals that have microchips and are found by Animal Care & Control Officers are taken home to their family and do not end up in the shelter.

Cat Art Showcase 

Did you know that June is National Adopt-A-Cat Month? To celebrate we're showcasing some art that our very own shelter cats have created! Paintings will be on exhibit and for sale in June during "Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month." All artwork will be accompanied with artist bios and a photo. All proceeds and donations will be going to the Community Spay/Neuter fund to keep our Saturday clinics going!

Farm Day at the Charlotte Nature Museum

We'll be showcasing some of our barnyard animals to supplement an education program being presented at the museum as well as bring attention to our homeless animal situation here at the shelter.

South Park Mall Adoptions

Its time to kick off the summer!  What better way to do it than with a new furry friend from Animal Care & Control?  Come to the center court at South Park Mall on the first Saturday of each month to meet orphaned animals available for adoption.  Dogs and cats ready for adoption and shelter staff and volunteers will be available to answer all of your questions.
