I adopted "Gracie" June 07. She didn't have a name but had a number too large for her little self! At 8 lbs she was a tiny little love bug. She is now a whopping 10 lbs and thinks she is 150 lbs! I got her for my husband for father's day. He loves small dogs, I always leaned toward larger dogs. After having to put my other two dogs down-15 and 17yrs old, I swore I would never get another dog, I didn't want to go through the heartbreak again. After about a year I couldn't stand not having a dog-so I decided to get a small one. I figured my hubby would like a small dog and I would in no way get attached to a little dog.

It is now the joke of our house...I really got Gracie for me. It took about 5 minutes for her to start getting to me. She is the most loving, affectionate, sweetheart of a dog I have ever seen. When I come through the door from work we have a routine-I let her out and then pick her up for LOTS of hugs, rubs and kisses!! If I ever dare break that routine she sits at my feet whining. Funny, everyone feels the need to state the obvious...Gracie is spoiled rotten! My reply is usually something to affect of-well of course she is!! How can I not spoil her!?
She loves pillows!! No matter how they are arranged she wiggles her way under them and makes herself at home. What an amazing amount of joy this tiny little 10 lb dynamo brings. She has filled a place in my heart that I never ever thought could be filled. As much as I have always loved dogs, Gracie reminds me to relax and always take the time no matter how busy I am to just sit for a few moments and reflect on what's really important.
I am so grateful for the animal shelter and the work that they do. I only wish I could adopt them all!! I tell everyone who will listen where I got her and just how perfect of a dog she is. Everyone loves "The Grace"-who could even resist!!??
Thank you again!!
