Edwin

Dear Dr. Mary and Staff,

I'm writing to thank all of you for the wonderful cat we adopted on December 16, 2008!

Edwin - formerly known as PUSS PUSS (ID A737190)- is a very large ( 20 lb.), long-haired, polydactyl black cat. He was surrendered by his family in November and needed surgery on an infected paw.

The Story of How PUSSPUSS Became EDWIN the College Cat...

Edwin lounging at home

PussPuss seemed to know that he was home from the minute I let him out of the carrier! After an hour, he had settled down on the bed and was purring while I read final exams. I thought he would be the perfect faculty cat- a sympathetic animal friend to sit with me while I graded exams or worked on research projects. And, of course he would never, ever try to chew up papers like the dog.

And then my daughter came home... The moment she started brushing PussPuss -that was it! My faculty feline friend became a college cat! The two of them are now inseparable.

She named him "Edwin"  because he should have a "cool" name.  Edwin spends his spare time watching squirrels while sunbathing in the her window and listening to loud alternative music. He even has his picture posted on Face Book and My Space with his mistress and gets "friended"!! Edwin purrs while she studies and sleeps at the foot of her bed every night.

Sure, he still comes when I call him, but he doesn't hang out with me any more. I know I've lost my faculty cat. But my daughter and Edwin, her college cat, are a perfect pair!  As she says, " Edwin rocks!!

Thanks again for the wonderful care you gave him- and the chance to adopt our new family member! And if his former family ever contacts you to ask about him- please let them know that he is well loved- and well fed!

Edwin
