Get set to experience a Run/Walk like no other! Charlotte Douglas International Airport is pleased to host the 3rd Annual Runway 5K Run/Walk. This certified Run will take place at one of the nation's most unique locations and busiest airports. *Proceeds from the race benefit LifeSpan's Community Activity and Employment Transition Program (CAET).

Course Description The Runway 5K Run/Walk provides a smooth and flat surface. The first half of the race/walk course will run on and alongside one the Airport's runways and will provide exciting views of planes landing and taking off, the terminal complex and a scenic view of the uptown Charlotte Skyline. The course is wheelchair accessible and baby stroller friendly.
Restrictions Given the secure location of this Run and for safety reasons, bikes, rollerblades, inline skates, dogs and/or other pets are not allowed.
The course will NOT be opened prior to the 8.am. scheduled Runway 5K Run.

T-shirt information Pre-registered Runners & Walkers: Pre-registered runners and walkers may pick-up race packets and t-shirts during the week of the race at the Charlotte Running Company or during race day. The Charlotte Running Company is located at 1412 East Blvd., Suite G, Charlotte, NC 28203. T-Shirts available while supplies last.

Awards Awards will be presented in the following categories:
Top 3 Male Baby Jogger Top 3 Female Baby Jogger Top 3 Overall Male/Female Top 3 Male/Female in each age group: 7 & under, 8-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 70-up.

Directions/Parking The start point of the Runway 5K Run/Walk is 5020 Hangar Road. Attendants will be on hand to assist you with parking. Parking will be free.
Directions from Interstate 85 Take Exit 33, If northbound, turn right at the top of exit ramp. If southbound, turn left at the top of exit ramp.
Travel approximately 2.3 miles and make a right turn onto West Boulevard (Highway 160). Travel approximately 1 mile and make a right turn onto Yorkmont Road. Travel approximately .5 miles and make a left turn onto Hangar Road. Travel approximately .3 miles and the start point/ parking area will be to your left.
Directions from Interstate 77 If northbound, take Exit 6B to Billy Graham Parkway/Airport Exit. If southbound, take Exit 6B and turn right at the top of exit ramp and make immediate right onto Billy Graham Parkway. Travel approximately 2.8 miles and make a left turn onto West Boulevard (Highway 160) and continue following the remainder of above directions.

LifeSpan's Community Activity and Employment Transitions (CAET) program introduces individuals with developmental disabilities to the community through employment, educational opportunities, volunteerism, and/or recreation and leisure activities. Charlotte Douglas International Airport is a strong supporter of the CAET, offering employment for individuals enrolled in the program.
