Arrowood and Sulkirk Road Pipe Replacement Project

Contractors for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department (CMUD) will replace a 24-inch drinking water pipe under;
  • Arrowood Road (between Arrowridge Boulevard and near Kings Creek Drive);
  • Sulkirk Road (between Park South Road and Sharon Road);
  • Park South Road (between Park Road and Sulkirk Road); and
  • Sharon Road (between Sulkirk Road and Rutherford Drive).


WHEN: Construction will start around July 21st, 2014 at Arrowridge Boulevard and continue through Spring 2015. Construction on Park South and Sulkirk roads will begin in 2015 (after Arrowood Road work near completion).


  • Arrowridge Boulevard to Fawnbrook Lane -  crews will generally work dawn to dusk and sometimes 24 hours to complete installation in key intersections.
  • Fawbrook Lane to Nations Ford Road - crews will work 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and use flaggers to assist with traffic.
    Nations Ford Road - crews will work 24 hours a day to complete installation and reopen intersection as soon as possible.
  • Forest Point Circle and other streets may only be able to turn right on Arrowood Road when construction is near intersection.
  • Nations Ford Road to Silver Arrow Drive/Kings Creek Drive – crews will work 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, and use flaggers to assist with traffic.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Expect to see several dump trucks, large trucks delivering pipe, and large excavators.

WATER SERVICE: If temporary interruption of water service becomes necessary, affected property owners will be notified at least 72 hours in advance. Unexpected service interruptions will be treated as an emergency.
