MYEP Application Process


Career Development Coordinators are in the process of enrolling students interested in the MYEP. The first component of the MYEP, the Career Readiness Training Certification, runs September 30th through

November 18th. Please note that this Certification is required for a paid internship opportunity.



The Mayor’s Youth Employment Program offers a wide array of career exploration opportunities to area youth. All Program participants must be referred by CMS CDCs and complete requirements based on their desired pathway:


Career Readiness Training Certification Only​

-Register with campus CDC

Job Shadowing​-Register with campus CDC​
Job Opportunity​

-Register with campus CDC

-Follow-through with employer-specific hiring requirements​

Paid Internship Opportunity​

-Participate in Career Readiness Training Certification

-Complete internship application

-Participate in interview

-Successfully complete drug and background checks

-Participate in Charlotte Career Discovery Day (or approved career exploration activity)

Youth should also review their Student Handbook.

Unpaid Internship Opportunity​

-Register with campus CDC

-Follow-through with employer-specific hiring requirements
