The Charlotte Fire Department has been serving the Queen City since 1887. Its primary mission is to preserve life and property through rapid emergency response, code enforcement, education and planning.

The Firefighter Written Entrance Exam Scheduled for Saturday January 23, 2016 has been delayed due to the inclement weather. Applicants who are scheduled for the 8:00am and 10:00am test sessions should report to the testing location at 10:00am for check in. Applicants who are scheduled for the 12:00pm test session should still report to the testing location at 12:00pm for check in. The written test will take place at the Oasis Shriner's Temple at 604 Doug Mayes Place Charlotte, NC. Please bring a valid photo ID with you to check in, you will not be permitted without valid identification.
