Right of Way Maintenance

The Right of Way Maintenance section is responsible for mowing and maintenance of the right of way adjacent to vacant, undeveloped parcels along City roads, within the City limits. The mowing frequency for City right of way is every seven weeks, or about six cycles per year. Each cycle consists of about 500 miles for a total mowing mileage of about 3000 miles.

In-house staff also mows 19 acres of vacant city owned properties. These areas are cut about five times per year equating to 95 mowed acres. In addition, they respond to sight distance problems, clear guardrails and dead-end street delineators, applying pesticides as needed.

The Right of Way Maintenance section manages eleven median maintenance contracts.
