CMPD Arrest Burglary Suspects

Providence Division Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have arrested Antonis Bernard Screthen, DOB: 08/31/1994, and Zachary Deyshaun Spann, DOB: 11/08/1995, for their involvement in an attempted residential burglary case.
 
On November 24, 2012, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a breaking and entering call for service at a home in the 800 block of Queen Charlotte’s Court. The homeowner called 9-11 to report observing two suspects attempting to get into his home through a rear window. Once officers arrived they observed two individuals matching the suspects descriptions running from behind the home down the street.  Officers immediately established a perimeter in an effort to locate the suspects. A short time later  officers observed two individuals matching the description of the suspects and detained the individuals on Water Oak Rd.  A witness was transported to the scene and positively identified the two suspects as the individuals involved in the attempted burglary.
 
Both suspects were charged with attempted first degree burglary and resisting a public officer.  Anyone with additional information with regard to this case and or these individuals is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704.334.1600. RT

Robbery Suspect Arrested

North Tryon Division officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have arrested Juan Carlos-Peole Romero, DOB: 02/18/1977, for his involvement in an armed robbery case.  On November 20, 2012, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to an armed robbery call for service  at 6500 N. Tryon Street.  The victim stated she was walking to a friend’s house in the area when the suspect pulled up in a car, jumped out of the vehicle, and robbed her at gunpoint.  The suspect removed the victim’s purse and drove away.
 
The victim called 9-11 with a detailed description of the suspect and the plate number of the vehicle he was traveling in.  A short time later officers observed the vehicle in the 1100 block of W. Sugar Creek Rd.   Information and evidence gathered during the investigation implicated Peole-Romero in the robbery.  He was arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

CMPD's Annual "Fall Fling"

 

Dozens of folks from the community joined members of the CMPD at the department's annual "Fall Fling" event at the Police Training Academy.  Members with the CMPD's SWAT, Aviation, and Canine Units were on hand to discuss their respective roles with the department.
