
Beth Pickering, a Democrat, is an At-Large representative on Charlotte City Council. She was elected in 2011 and is serving her first term on Council.
Pickering is a volunteer with the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party, chairs her voting precinct, and has volunteered with Organizing for America since 2008. She serves on a committee for the Ballantyne Commons Townhome Association.
She received her degree in Health Information Management from the American Medical Record Association. She is a Registered Health Information Technician and earned her certification as a Certified Coding Specialist through the American Health Information Association. She attended the University of Illinois – Champaign/Urbana, majoring in English Literature.
Pickering is a member of the American and North Carolina Health Information Management associations.
She manages audit response for the Health Information Management Department of Novant/Presbyterian Hospital for the hospital’s Greater Charlotte Market region.
Council Member Pickering serves as Vice Chair of the Community Safety committee and is also a member of the Environment and Government Affairs committees.
